I live in Mills River, NC, which is about fifteen minutes from Asheville. I attended West Henderson High School (2008-2012) before attending Meredith College (2012-2016).
I chose Meredith because I am a big supporter of personalized education; Meredith excels at making every student feel valued and special. I have always loved literature so becoming an English major was a very simple decision for me to make. I chose a high school teaching license because I love digging deep into the literature instead of just giving it a surface evaluation, and high school is the period of time where this deep analysis usually occurs.

My personal preference in literature leans more towards British literature, though I enjoy most genres.
Shakespeare, Austen, the Bronte sisters, and Maureen Johnson are just a few of my favorite authors.
I want to be a high school English teacher because I feel that English is not given enough positive attention. I want my students to be excited when they walk in my classroom, not bored and irritable.
